Europe’s biggest Cannabis Consumer Convention kicked off in Barcelona at the end of March, with 33,000 tickets sold prior and another 15,000 across the three day event in Barcelona, Spain. There were 148 stands including seed companies, paraphernalia outlets and new cannabis products as diverse as Canna Ice Cream and CBD massage oil. Free samples were handed out.

The biggest news of the event – Spannabis itself has just been sold to High Times Magazine, which recently raised $42 million for a global expansion plan. The venerable magazine has been fighting in the USA for cannabis legalisation for 50 years, and this is High Times big moment.

The Spannabis purchase was the first move of the new management, led by financier Adam Levin. We hope to be interviewing Adam in the near future.

The first big move, that is, apart from relocating the head office from New York to Los Angeles “to be nearer to my house.”

The Internet industry in Europe was swiftly Americanised, and only now is the European Commission fighting back against Google and Facebook.

Let’s hope the same thing does not happen to the European Cannabis Industry. Cannabis Industry leaders: Contact Cannabis Report for a conference on a Europe-wide Industry Association – news@cannavision.co.uk
